Auditions for the 2017-2018 Season
OperaBend is looking to produce one opera and one musical this season. Repertoire to be chosen from:
Opera: Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, Puccini’s Tosca, Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana, Leoncavallo's Pagliacci, Verdi's Rigoletto, Mozart's Don Giovanni and Lehar's The Merry Widow
Musical Theatre: Kiss Me Kate, The Secret Garden, South Pacific, JC Superstar, and Man of La Mancha
Production performances will be in March, 2018 (March 23rd and 24th) and June (June 22nd and 23rd). Out-of-town performers will arrive 2-3 weeks prior to those dates.

For Local Singers:
Anyone/Everyone is welcome to audition regardless of experience. The local auditions for the 2017-2018 season will take place on Wednesday, August 23rd at 6pm at Pinckney Center for the Arts, on the campus of COCC at 2600 NW College Way, Bend, OR 97701. Please send an email to Jason Stein, Executive Director at firstname.lastname@example.org to get an audition appointment.
For Out-of-Town singers:
OperaBend is now also accepting Out-of-Town applications for Principal Role auditions for the 2017-2018 season.
To apply please send an email to Jason Stein, Executive Director at email@example.com stating your desire to audition. The email must include the following:
Your city of residence, the role(s) you are interested in or no preference, an updated resume (pdf only) and headshot (jpg only) as attachments. If selected to audition, you will be contacted and given an audition time from the time slots available.
The out-of-town auditions for the 2017-2018 season will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Hampton Opera Center, 211 SE Caruthers, Portland, Oregon.
A professional accompanist will be provided. There will be a $25 fee to audition. (This fee covers the cost of the space and accompanist.) You may bring in your own accompanist, but the $25 fee is mandatory.
For principal roles, please prepare 3 arias/songs, but we may only have time to hear one. We encourage you to sing an aria from a role in the opera listed above that you’re interested in.
Specific role requirements: if you’re wanting Lucia, please prepare: the 2nd verse to the end, of “Spargi d’amaro pianto”.
